Corrected May 2026 event calendar

Northville Flower Sale: Friday–Saturday, May 22–23

The Northville Chamber’s organizer page listed its 39th annual sale at West Main and North Center Street: Friday, May 22, 11 a.m.–6 p.m.; Saturday, May 23, 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Its program included plants and other vendors, food and music. The original May 23–24 Friday/Saturday pairing was incorrect for 2026. Northville city spans Oakland and Wayne counties; a Northville-area event is not automatically located wholly in Oakland County.

Context: Tom’s following description is his community opinion. An event’s appeal does not establish a property premium or mean every visitor experiences the same program.

The 39th Annual Northville Flower Sale is one of the most beloved community traditions in all of Oakland County — and it is exactly the kind of event that makes Northville one of the most sought after addresses in Southeast Michigan. Beautiful flowers and plants, handmade goods, food trucks, and live music in the heart of Downtown Northville in full spring bloom. The Northville Clock Tower, the boutique storefronts, the brick sidewalks alive with neighbors — this is community character that no developer can manufacture.

Northville Farmers’ Market: Thursday, May 21 before the holiday

The Northville DDA’s 2026 calendar listed Thursdays, May 7–October 29, 8 a.m.–2 p.m., at 550 W. Seven Mile Road. May 22, 2026 was Friday; the pre-holiday Thursday was May 21. The specific 10 a.m. music claim was not matched to a dated organizer program, so it should not be treated as a confirmed performance. The published season has ended.

Memorial observance

The Chamber’s May update said it was coordinating a Monday, May 25 parade with American Legion Post 147 and VFW 4012. This confirms the dated plan; it is not a current route, time or future-year announcement.

June activities were separate from the holiday

Great Farmington Hills Campout

The original guide listed June 6–7, 2026 at Heritage Park. Those dates fell Saturday–Sunday, not Friday–Saturday, and were after Memorial Day weekend. The city’s registration search no longer returned the archived activity in this review. The original May 30 registration deadline, fees, availability and exact program are therefore not being certified here or promoted as open registration. Consult current city recreation information for any future campout.

Kickoff 2 Summer: Thursday, June 11

The city’s June 2 announcement scheduled the June 11 event for 5–8 p.m. at The Hawk, 29995 W. Twelve Mile Road. It described recreation and live music and a one-year anniversary of The Hawk Nature Trail and Outdoor Classroom. It did not describe a new opening of The Hawk Community Center. June 11 was Thursday, not Wednesday, and the event was separate from Memorial Day weekend.

For new plans, confirm the date, venue, admission or membership terms and accessibility with the organizer. A past city event is not permission to camp or use a facility outside its operating rules.

Waterfront recreation: verify each place

Memorial Day is often used as an informal start to summer recreation. It is not a single countywide legal opening date for lakes, beaches or boat launches. A named lake, nearby address or “all-sports” label does not establish public shore access, a right to use a dock, boating hours or safe swimming conditions.

Use the Michigan DNR boating guidance and facility closure information, then check the actual operator or lake rules. Confirm lawful access, hours, passes and closures before visiting. For a purchase, review the deed, recorded access documents and property-specific obligations with the appropriate professionals.

Tom’s tip: use more than one visit

Walk Heritage Park in Farmington Hills on Sunday afternoon. Spend an hour at a West Bloomfield lakefront community on Monday. What you see will tell you more about whether you belong there than any listing description ever could.

Community appeal is not a valuation guarantee
