The Ultimate Checklist for When You Are Finally Ready To Buy a House

Are you ready? Becoming a homeowner is not that easy! There are a lot of factors you need to think about before moving further in the process.

This Q & A session will help you find out whether you are ready to face the challenges in the home-buying process or not.

Let’s begin:

To help you follow the conversation easily, the answers have been color coded. The red color represents a negative tone and the green color represents a positive tone.

Q1. You finally found the dream of your house. Are you ready to place an offer?

Yes – It’s the reason why I’m reading this blog.

No – Was looking for something to read and found this blog’s title interesting. (This indicates that you are not mentally prepared to buy a home for sale in Novi, Michigan. It would be better to go with a rental property for now.)

Q2. The area in which you are currently living in, do you plan to settle here?

Yes – I plan to live in this area for quite a few years OR I am not sure about the neighborhood here and I might move two to three years from now.

No – I might get bored and since I consider myself a free spirit, I will go wherever the wind takes me.

Q3. What are your plans for the future… say 4 to 6 years from now?

Yes – I have mapped out my professional and personal life and I plan to follow the timeline.

Not Sure – I don’t even plan about what I am going to do next in the day! (Life has a way of throwing curve balls and sometimes you need to go with the flow.)

No – I am not ready to make any big commitments, which probably means I will be more focused on my professional life.

Q4. Are you happy with your job?

Completely!

Heck no!

Q5. Are you planning to continue with the same job in the future?

Yes – My current job pays well, so much so that I am able to spend occasionally on material things and pay my bills. I am still left with enough to put a few hundred dollars in my savings account.

No – I am always on the lookout for a better job that pays more.

Q6. After answering the above five questions, do you still want to proceed with buying a home for sale in Novi, Michigan?

Yes – I am confident enough that I can make it.

No – I need to rethink my decision.

Q7. Are you ready to be a homeowner?

Absolutely yes!

Not at all! It sounds too much like a burden.

Q8. Have you saved enough money for the initial home-buying fees?

Yes – I have saved around $1,500 and in case the process costs more, I have an emergency fund that will take care of the rest.

No – What? I thought that the mortgage loan I would get will cover it all. I don’t have enough saved and with all those bills over my head, I think I won’t be able to save for quite a while.

Q9. Are you financially secure?

Yes – I have saved enough that I can live comfortably, in case I am out of a job.

No – I tend to spend a lot.
