The Plymouth Michigan Ice Festival is a tradition that’s exciting and fun for the whole family and always free for all ages. The sculptures will remain in place 24 hours a day weather permitting. It is said that an ice company delivers 400 separate 300-pound blocks of ice that get used to create about 70 different, finely detailed ice sculptures.
Plymouth is known for outstanding festivals & community events from the Plymouth Ice Festival to the second largest art fair in Michigan. Throughout the year there are many weekly activities, so you’ll always find yourself back in Plymouth. The Plymouth Michigan Ice Festival is sure to be an event that will leave you in wonder and allow your children to truly understand and appreciate the magic of ice and their imaginations soar with unlimited possibilities.
Plymouth Michigan Ice Festival Highlights
- A dueling chainsaw competition, which gives ice carvers 15 minutes and one block of ice to create their art.
- The lights will be flipped on to illuminate an ice garden that can be seen each night in Kellogg Park.
- On Penniman Avenue, a winter market will feature vendors offering Michigan-made food and products
- Weather permitting, the festival will feature horses, donkeys, goats, sheep, alpaca and a calf.

Saturday, January 7th – 10:00am to 10:00pm
Sunday, January 8th – 10:00am to 6:00pm
Sculptures are available for viewing 24 hours a day and will remain standing after the event – weather permitting.
